Imagine taking a deep breath of clean, fresh air with a hint of sea-salt; let yourself feel the bright rays of sunshine warm your skin as the sea-breeze blows gently against you.
Hear the loud sound of waves rolling in the infinite sea before crashing loudly against the sand.
Now let that breath out.
Repeat.
Let your head empty of all thoughts and feel how your chest expands with the same wonder of being surrounded by nature, safe and in the company of people you like spending time with.
These are the sensations I experience whenever I read the first few paragraphs of The One At The Sea Cliffs from the Ashlee Chronicles Series.
In those moments of re-reading this book I’m transported right back to that sunny day exploring this secret place overlooking the sea, goofing off with my friend and laughing at our ridiculous antics, feeling free, and amazing for the first time in months.
I’m reminded of how my heart raced as I survived my friend’s heavy-footed driving, how I was so sure the vehicle would capsize before we even made it to our destination, and the moments that threatened to scare my soul from my body when we did get there, because exploring new places are not without risks.
In this story, I share how good it felt to reconnect with my Inner Child, giving into her desires for once with no real judgment. It was a magical experience that showed me just how fun, creative, warm, and loving my Inner Child really is.
