The Deep Unwind I'm Obsessed With 🧘♀️

Hey, loves!
Welcome back to Ashlee Shares, where I bring you the creative tools, mindset shifts, and digital treasures that are actually fueling my fire.
Today, we’re diving straight into a video that has become the absolute MVP of my post-morning-walk routine.
It’s been giving me the deepest sense of relaxation and grounding I’ve felt in a long time.
The video is: "Supine Yin Yoga⎪Deep Somatic Psoas Unwinding" by The Bare Female.
Let’s unpack why this 37-minute gem is essential for my (and maybe your!) creative life.
💖 Why I'm Living For This Low-Key Flow:
I stumbled upon this when I realized my morning walks were getting my energy up, but my nervous system needed a proper downshift before I could do deep work.
This video is the perfect transition.
- Deep Relaxation: From the very first minute, the instructor's voice is just... calm. She invites you to "receive" and "let go". It immediately sets the tone for a non-judgmental, purely nourishing practice. No pressure, just presence.
- Lying Down is the New Standing Up: My favorite part? The entire practice is done lying on your back. Honestly, after a long walk, or a busy morning, the last thing I want is to hold a warrior pose. The surrender is built in! We start with a beautiful supported Supta Baddha Konasana, which really helps me to feel where my body is tight and can release some resistance.
- Hello, Grounding: The focus is on finding a sense of "passiveness" and letting your body melt into the mat . This is exactly what pulls me out of my head and into my vessel.
- Psoas Unwinding: The practice focuses on unwinding the Psoas (that deep muscle that holds all our stress). Through long, gentle holds and those beautiful little "banana shape" side stretches and, I can literally feel the tension dissipating. As a creative entrepreneur, I’m often hunched over a laptop, so this release is non-negotiable.
- The 5-Minute Savasana: She closes with a five-minute final rest where you're invited to feel your body getting "really heavy, like you are a rock sinking slowly to the bottom of the ocean". I swear, I finish the video feeling heavier- like I’m gently aware of being inside my body, yet lighter, like I’m weightless and my muscles are relaxed. Centered, yet expansive.
If you’re looking for a simple, beautiful, and deeply effective way to find your center and transition into a focused, grounded state, you absolutely have to join me on the mat for this one.
